چکیده

Ecologists working with stable isotopes have to deal complex datasets including temporal and spatial replication, which makes the analysis representation of patterns change challenging, especially at high resolution. Due lack a commonly accepted conceptual framework in isotope ecology, graphical dynamics value organism or community scale remained past often descriptive qualitative, impeding quantitative detection relevant functional patterns. The recent trajectory (CTA) provides more explicit perspectives for visualization ecological trajectories. Building on CTA, we developed Stable Isotope Trajectory Analysis (SITA) framework, analyze geometric properties trajectories n-dimensional (n ? 2) spaces defined analogously traditional multivariate (?) used ecology. This approach new into spatio-temporal (??) derived structural (?? space). SITA allows calculation set metrics, based either distances directions, solutions, both easily performable an R environment. Here, illustrate use our by reanalyzing previously published from marine, terrestrial, freshwater ecosystems. We highlight insights provided this analytic individual, population, community, ecosystems levels, discuss applications, limitations, development potential.

Stable Isotope Application in Animal Nutrition Science

The application of stable isotope analysis (SIA) has become a standard scientific approach in Agricultural and Ecological researches and, more in general, in several disciplines such as biology, botany, zoology, organic chemistry, climatology, and nutrition. The main objectives of this paper are (1) to provide a simple definition of stable isotopes and (2) to illustrate analytical measurement m...

Bone Stable Isotope Studies in Archaeology

Stable isotope ratios of carbon and nitrogen in bone have become increasingly frequent inclusions in archaeological reports over the past few decades. The majority of such studies has been done in North America, where the use of marine foods and the introduction of maize have been monitored. Similar questions have been addressed in Mesoamerica and South America. In Europe, stable isotope ratios...

Stable Isotope Studies in Human Evolution

The discipline of human evolution usually involves the evaluation of changes in gross and molecular morphology or changes in artifact assemblages. In contrast, stable isotope analysis is an indirect line of investigation. Understanding the human evolutionary sequence requires information on nutritional, biobehavioral, and general ecology. These are the kinds of information that stable isotope a...

A stable isotope-based approach to tropical dendroclimatology

We describe a strategy for development of chronological control in tropical trees lacking demonstrably annual ring formation, using high resolution O measurements in tropical wood. The approach applies existing models of the oxygen isotopic composition of alpha-cellulose (Roden et al., 2000), a rapid method for cellulose extraction from raw wood (Brendel et al., 2000), and continuous flow isoto...

A new family in the stable homotopy groups of spheres

Let $p$ be a prime number greater than three. In this paper, we prove the existence of a new family of homotopy elements in the stable homotopy groups of spheres $pi_{ast}(S)$ which is represented by $h_nh_mtilde{beta}_{s+2}in {rm Ext}_A^{s+4, q[p^n+p^m+(s+2)p+(s+1)]+s}(mathbb{Z}_p,mathbb{Z}_p)$ up to nonzero scalar in the Adams spectral sequence, where $ngeq m+2>5$, $0leq sExt}_A^{s+2,q[(s+2)p...
